Mid-IPL analysis!

Halfway through and there are no clear favorites.IPL is getting tighter.Deccan chargers won 4 on the trot and have suddenly discharged losing 3.All teams win 1 and lose 1.The only team out of the tournament is KKR.Maybe they should field the fake IPL player next time around.

Mumbai Indians rely a lot on Sachin's charisma.Their big name bowlers(Bhajji,Zaheer) are yet to fire.Malinga's yorkers alone cannot save the team.Deccan chargers depend highly on the swashbuckling pair of Gilly-Gibbs.With no Fidel Edwards,the team lacks a spearhead.Rohit Sharma is maturing as an useful allrounder.

KingsXI Punjab lost two matches due to those funny gentlemen-Duckworth and Lewis.Sreesanth's comeback has had negative effects.Brett Lee and Shaun Marsh are awaited.Royal Challengers have got better after the exit of KP.(He,along with Flintoff,has come a cropper).Praveen Kumar is an interesting prospect.Can Kumble and Dravid marshall the talented lot to something big?

Delhi Daredevils are formidable.Even with Sehwag yet to fire,they are posting big totals.Dilshan is playing great cricket.Dirk Nannes is not giving McGrath his first match this season.

KKR-The action has mostly been off the field.(Multiple Captaincy,fake player etc).SRK must sell the team and get back to KJo movies.McCullum is so dumb a captain that he gives Ajantha Mendis the ball to bowl the super over against Yusuf Pathan.

IMO,it will be a repeat of IPL 2008 finals this time around.Both Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Superkings are coming back strongly after the initial inactivity.What they have which other teams lack is a strong captain.Warne has been given free reins.He is bossing the team with determination. A lot has been written and said about the Captain Cool,the unflappable Dhoni.His masterstroke to give an over to Raina instead of the more established Gony won them a match yesterday.

My predictions are:

1.Hayden,Raina,Dilshan and Warner will keep scoring.

2.Yusuf Pathan holds the key to all RR matches.

3.McGrath will bowl one devastating spell of 4/15.

4.KKR will win one more match.The losers will be out of the tournament.

5.Dhoni will field-marshall his team to glory!
