The Murder of Velupillai Prabhakaran!

Many of my friends (2 to be precise)  have been requesting me to write an obituary for Velupillai Prabhakaran.

Born on Nov 26,1954 in Velvettithurai(Beautiful tamil name),the Srilankan government's discriminatory policies against Tamils prompted him to be a rebel and he started an organisation to fight for a separate state(Eelam) for Tamils(1976).Sounds a honest scramble for rights.But somehow LTTE lost it's way in the midway opting for extremist ways to grab attention.

I am not Sarath Fonseka to call him a terrorist and am not Seeman either to call him a brother.I am sane enough to gauge him exactly as what he is:A failed revolutionary who had his humungous responsibilities floundered big time.

Any modicum of respect I had for Prabhakaran ceased to exist on that dark May 21st of 1991 in Srivilipudur when his group atrociously extinguished (though temporarily) the Future of Modern India.Prabhakaran  killed Rajiv Gandhi and hence he deserves all this.Forget Seeman and co.

Rajapakse does not become a hero just by depriving LTTE of it's oxygen.Rehabilitation of the IDP is a bigger task.Devolution of powers at the provincial level is the best solution available for Tamils.Eelam is possible only in the election speeches of Jayalalitha.Winning peace requires more strength than winning the war.Rajapakse's pro-Sinhalese politics should not do any injustice to Tamils.Prabhakarans die.Ideas do not.Srilanka will not survive another LTTE.
