Haikus,anyone?!

Writing Haikus is tough.The so-called haikus which merit Rs.20 in Dhina Thanthi and Dhina Malar irritate me to the core.A Haiku should describe a scene as it happens and leave the subtext to the reader.A Haiku cannot depict emotions.Sample this example in "Kudumba malar":

அவளின் இதய குழியில்

விழுந்ததால் எனக்குள்

காதல் வலி!

It is badly written prose.Imagery sans imagination.Far from a Haiku.

2 weeks back,Me and Shivkumar were going to temple(That I hate temples is irrelevant to this post) and this Haiku sprang up in my mind.I hope that it means to you what it meant to me.

கோவிலுக்கு செல்லும் வழியில்

சாலையைக் கடக்க தவிக்கும்

குருடன்!
