Naadodigal-The Alternate View!

"Naadodigal" is not a movie of Love. One pair faces little problems.2 or 3 dialogues (with typical Sasikumarian brevity) and Dad says "Fine!".One pair faces problems and love withers away very easily. To sacrifice love for an imbecile(forget that he is the dad) makes it a passionless affair. For the pair which eloped,it was more about making love than love itself. After the fornication is over, all Love is gone.
Inspite of grand dialogues eulogising friendship,"Naadodigal" is not a movie of friendship.3 friends give it their all for friend's love and they are completely shunned in the end.The movie slaps everyone worshipping friendship. It adds caution to the compassion you have for your friend.Instead of celebrating,"Naadodigal" warns you against friendship.
So what exactly does the movie celebrate?
"Naadodigal" is the movie of 3 fathers.
1.A father who turns a messenger for his son's love.He gives his moped for son's dating and rides a bicycle happily. His smile is highly infectious. The scene in which he sits outside without showing emotions while his son and his lover cry for the amputated leg is a classic. When his handicapped son stumbles,he allows the daughter-in-law-to-be to help him out rather than himself running.
2.A father who first promises to be typical when he keeps rebuking his son for not getting employed. When his son gets imprisoned, his real feelings come out.He supports his son saying "My son's integrity is unquestionable."He heeds to his son's words immediately and accepts his daughter's love.
3.A father who is unable to express love for his son because of a Hitleresque step-mother and feels for it throughout.
And there are some more:A father who hates his daughter eloping with her lover,A father who wants his son-in-law to be a government employee.
Every frame of the movie is filled with dads and their emotions. In that aspect,"Naadodigal" is better than "Vaaranam Ayiram".
