2 States!

Chetan Bhagat-"The biggest selling English language novelist in India's history"-comes up with a semi-autobiographical novel on inter-community marriages in India. The plot is sickeningly hackneyed-it reminded me of "Poovellam kettupar".Guy impressing the girl's family and girl impressing the guy's family. All this in the name of national integration.WTF!
The chemistry between the lovers is conspicuously missing for a supposedly LOVE story. All they yearn for is sex.In the 6th chapter, they start kissing and look at the plot development in the 7th:"Needless to say,one thing led to another and within two weeks we had sex."The marriage proposal by Krish to Ananya in her HLL interview is radically rubbish. The use of Tamil foul words so blatantly will shock any Tamilian.
It is evident that Chetan Bhagat is eyeing to be a big Bollywood screenwriter.Hence he thrusts on us melodramatic scenes like the phone call to mother and drab lines like "What would the world be without mothers?".
Chetan Bhagat is popular not because of reasons like he knows the pulse of the youngistan etc.But because his novels cost Rs.95.A time will come when his books cost a fortune and that will be apocalypse for the biggest pseudo-story teller India has ever had.
P.S:The dumb novel can still be made into a Bollywood blockbuster under the KJo banner. My pick for the lead couple:Ranbir and Deepika!
