Kirchoff or Kautilya?

I have chosen "History" and "Political Science and International relations" as my optionals for civil service exams(CSE).I thought of choosing "Electrical engineering" as my second optional but was completely put off seeing the past question papers and syllabus.What am studying as a subject here in engineering is a single chapter in CSE syllabus.My 4 years of engineering as a single paper.I said a polite "No thanks" to Kirchoff and am saying a cautious "Hi" to Kautilya.I am getting into unknown waters and am enjoying it.
