From The Other Side!
Saravana stores should sue a case on the producers of "Angadi theru" and publicise the movie. It was disheartening to see a mere 200-odd audience watching the movie of the year thus far.The movie is all about the plight of workers in retail chains like "Saravana stores".
The dilapidated place they stay in,the pathetic mess where they eat,a heartless supervisor who molests girls and a love story amidst all troubles.Unlike Vasanthabalan's previous "Veyil" which ended on a negative note,AT ends brightly:Life goes on regardless of circumstances if there is a single heart to care for you.
The hero is definitely uncomfortable in certain heavy-duty scenes. The heroine Anjali delivers an effortlessly stunning performance.A.Venkatesh lives his role so well that you hate him to the core. The midget-pregnant lady sequence is highly touching.
The songs are beautiful. The BGM score is absolutely atrocious for such an emotionally charged movie.Yuvan would have been a better choice.Jayamohan's sharp dialogues(யானை இருக்குற காட்டுல தான் எறும்பும் வாழுது!) underline the dimension an erudite writer can bring in to a movie.
The connection with Saravana stores is glaringly obvious. The shop is named as "Velmurugan stores".Another name for Lord Muruga as Saravana. The boss is referred as "Annachi".Sneha sings "alliko!alliko".Enough reasons for a case.I am praying that a case is booked to ensure AT's box-office success.
The next time you go to any retail chain and ask a worker,"show me a green chudi" or "show me the wrinkle-free pant",it will definitely be a request and not an order.Therein lies the success of "Angadi theru".
Absolutely agree! I hope this movie picks up momentum and run to packed houses. Def ppl of TN need this awareness
