*After the high of "Pasanga",Pandiraj comes up with a mixed bag in "Vamsam".What I liked in the movie is the research work involved.The movie gives minute details about the various vamsams in the Devar clan.(There is one called "Eppadu pattalum pirpadu kodhavar"!Phew!).The movie has the research of Dan Brown but lacks his narration.



*"Naan Mahaan Alla" has a lively first half combining some witty humour from Karthi and a love episode full of contemporary touches.Without a warning,it shifts gears and focusses on the crimes committed by 4 college students.It turns out to be a usual revenge drama-craftily executed though.I personally do not have issues with the on-your-face violence but this type of scriptwriting(Love episode unconnected with Revenge episode unconnected with the street smart witticisms of Karthi.They feel like three different movies) is bad.NMA is a highly watchable movie but not exactly good.

*Listening to "Thaniye" from "Rhythm" makes me wonder about the extraordinary skills of Vairamuthu in compressing an entire Barathiraja-styled love flick into a single song.
